Yep, glad she didn't get a reduction. The impact of a crime on a victim is, as I understand it, a valid part of sentencing considerations.

What a piece of shit that woman was. I felt terrible at the time because I had shared the family’s appeal for the return of the phone on social media, without considering the possibility of blackmail.

I read that article a while ago and nearly started a thread here to express my disgust at what a revolting excuse for a human being she was (but didn’t because I wasn’t sure if we were allowed to discuss the case).

So glad she doesn’t get a reduction and that they threw the book at her.

I couldn't fathom it because she was herself a parent. Unbelievable cruelty.

The parents said in an article on the ABC that it distresses them that this waste of skin (paraphrasing here) is getting attention and they are worried their baby will be forgotten and her name forgotten. Her name is Amiyah and she was beautiful.
