I wonder if this incident has put paid to any other Duggar sibling being approved for potential courtships.

I feel for the in laws of the married Duggars, I understand that they are all religious to varying degrees but people like Jeremy Vuolo's parents seemed almost normal.

He totally comes across as 'having someone chained to a wall in a basement' vibe.

He got released on bail

To third party custodians but with unlimited contact with his own children as long as Anna is there also. Not allowed to be in the presence of any other minor!

I can't believe they released him on bail. Urg. I read an article that quotes one of the people involves who viewed the material as part of the case as stating it was one of the top 5 horrifying pieces he'd ever seen.

The people he is staying with are friends of Jim bobs and from the church. They have been told to report anything of wrong doing to police. Not his parents or church. The husband has said he won’t be leaving josh alone with his wife while he is at work and is happy for his daughter to be there when he isn’t! I assume she is over 18 otherwise he wouldn’t be allowed to stay there?

Absolute fools for trusting that these people would actually report any breaches to the police. If they are part of the CP movement, they teach their kids etc. not to talk to the police and to lie and keep it within their church community only. I'm worried that his daughters might have been targets. And while I understand the hate that Anna is getting, I also understand that she likely doesn't see that she has any choice but to "support" him. As for the comments about her getting pregnant while knowing what is going on (seeing how the original material was confiscated in 2019), I feel like yelling, do you really think that she "voluntarily" sleeps with him.

According to one site I follow, in the US, there is a chance that Anna could lose the kids though if she stays with him. Frankly, I think that would in many ways be a good thing. If they could be places somewhere outside the cult.

Of course Anna is going to let him see/speak to his children as well. The whole situation is wrong.

At least the judge said the previous porn addition and his actions against his sisters and baby sitter will be taken into account

In Aus (well in Vic at least, I don't know every jurisdiction) if someone isn't allowed contact with children, that includes their own. So a woman who had a baby to him could either leave him or surrender the baby to Child Protection. I've seen it happen a few times (in a work context, not a personal one).

Whether or not she chose anything that happened to her so far, she should start choosing now.

I don't know how police can investigate these kinds of crimes, but I am so thankful that they do. Just the thought of it makes me feel sick, I can't imagine what they go through having to watch and identify CSAM

Most of the police who do this long term are incredibly traumatised and broken. It's not a culture that looks after its people the way that social work/psych etc does.

The dark web is a despicable place. The lowest of the low frequent that place!

Being in jobs that deal wrong these crimes regularly is tough, it breaks people.

She also has a sister who has left the cult as well.

And is apparently quite well off. So capable of financially setting Anna and the kids up if she needed. Apparently her parents are from poverty.

I feel sick knowing what he has been accessing. His kids need to be taken into care. They are not safe

That outlines perfectly the mindfuckery. Women bear all responsibility for men's sexuality and are expected to not only babysit it in a myriad of ways, there's the sting in the tail that any objection they have to decisions made by a man in authority over her means she has to stand up in court and say "My husband made the decision and I am here to support him" Her husband made the decision to take Josh in because Jim Bob's a big shot and the judge is too stupid to read between the lines of her words..
