Lady Grey
Currently on hold to Centrelink and baby is screaming for a feed. Where do I find the section on the website to 'add newborn child'. I have looked in every tab and cannot find it despite the newborn child declaration form saying that it is in the centrelink online account. tinselfoil hat
I did this a few weeks ago so am going by memory, hopefully this is right. I only know for the smart phone app as that’s what I used not the website. If you’ve already lodged your claim for parental leave it should be an option under the ‘more’ tab on the bottom right. DH didn’t have that option on his app as I was the one who did the ppl claim for the family, even though he was claiming dad and partner pay. Very weird. Hope that helps. Congratulations on your baby!
Princess Peach
I had to lodge the form given to me by the hospital & then wait - I never had the option on my Centrelink stuff.
VictorineTheCatLover
Do a claim for FTB and upload the Newborn Child Declaration. Trust me that is the easiest way. If you've done a claim for PPL then upload the same form. You only need to upload the back page but please...please...PLEASE put your child's name on it lol
withintent
Congratulations on your new baby! But the paperwork, it's horrible. Makes me shudder several years later. I consider myself intelligent/educated, I speak English fluently and my first 3 children ended up registered in all the proper systems without any hassle... Yet I wasn't able to successfully register my last child without umpteen phonecalls, visits to services NSW, more phonecalls and in the end a photocopied snail-mailed paper form. The iPad wouldn't talk to the scanner, centrelink wouldn't talk to BDM, my uploaded forms weren't accepted, and a critical information sheet seems to have been missing from my hospital paperwork. My baby got his medicare card, I paid for two birth certificates and months went by, and I was completely oblivious that he wasn't actually registered with BDM...Rant over. I hope PPs have answered your question quickly and easily. Good luck.
