Ozgirl
Hi Rhoxie,Welcome, I haven't had on going chemical pregnancies, but i am struggling with implantation - having multiple seeming fantastic embryo's transferred and them not sticking. The only thing i can suggest is supplements. But it might be worth speaking with a professional about, Try and get a referral to a fertility specialist, not just a OBGYN. I have recently been to see a reproductive immunoligist, and they suggested the following. Coq10, Increases blood flow, which in terms helps implantation, Vitamin E, Folate. And low dose asprin/ baby asprin approx 100mg. My iron levels are great (more than great and have struggled with being excessively high before) but that would first be a quick test. Have you had preconception bloods from a GP?
Froyo
Which tests are you using? I'd be tempted to dip one in water and see what happens. I also recommend seeing a fertility specialist (not just an ob or gyno).
Ozgirl
Oh yes - didn't even think about the test being faulty!
ClaudiaCosette
Have you had your thyroid function checked? When I was in the midst of multiple miscarriages, it turned out my thyroid function was low (I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's). I don't know if that what was causing or contributing to the miscarriages, but once I was on medication and my levels stabilised, I got pregnant with my twins. Ozgirl
I think follow up test are warranted, but unfortunately there is not much more that we can offer you on an online forum. What is your concern with and FS? Also how old are you?
ClaudiaCosette
My thyroid was checked two years ago and was fine then but I will head back to the doctors for some more up to date tests. Yes, definitely go and get checked out. My thyroid levels were borderline low when I was pregnant with my DD1, and then by 2 years later when I was trying again, I had Hashimoto's - so a lot can change in 2 years. I also didn't have any noticeable symptoms beyond tiredness.
Greenbean
How sensitive are the pregnancy tests? Are they the first response ones? I have read that women can have slightly higher HCG as they get older. Just enough to register a positive on a very sensitive pregnancy test. That may potentially be what's happening too Given your additional info on not wanting a lot of intervention, I would suggest having a blood test next time your period is late to see what's happening with your HCG, estrogen and progesterone (etc) and maybe that will help you determine what's happening
Ozgirl
The issues with seeing a fertility specialist are mostly that I already have 4 children so I don't really have a valid reason for the expense and hassle. Secondly, although I'm ok with a blood test here and there I'm really not good with the level of intervention that may be suggested. I'm needle phobic and I've had the same g.p. for 20 yrs and have had no intervention births with only midwives present. I'm 43 so my eggs are old. I last had a baby at 41 though so I was hoping everything would still be ok for 1 more.I will definitely go and get updated bloods this week though. ( I do already have the blood work form from the doc). Rhoxie, your feelings in wanting a 5th child are valid. an FS we have the best answer on what might be going with your body. there are a lot of things a FS can prescribe that may help. IVF may not be the answer (ie more needles). You hormones could be off. i do lots of no needle things when hormones are having a weird cycle. like an estrogen gel. (that i put on my arms and legs)You also haven't mentioned your age. my friend is having lots of chemicals and very early losses, and has been advised its cause her egg quality is low. There are lots of supplements that can help your egg quality.
