Fruitmincepies
I need to bake something - and I only have brown sugar or icing sugar. There is no need for it to be fancy, and I have plenty of regular baking ingredients (I just used up all my white sugar yesterday and don’t want to go to the shops). I’d prefer it to be gluten-free and I don’t have any GF flour (I usually bake stuff with almond meal), but I can just take the left over GF brownies I baked recently, for the GF person. Kiwi Bicycle
I just made a banana caramel blondie ( light brownie). Only used brown sugar and icing sugar.
Babetty
I use brown sugar quite a lot in baking - banana bread, muffins, brownies & blondies etc. It won't be as light as white sugar and gives a nice hint of caramel, but I've swapped it in to recipes without any issue. verucasalt
I regularly use brown sugar because I like the taste better. I have never tried GF flour, but have used almond meal or chestnut meal (I have to order that online these days). I do not like coconut flour because of the dry texture.GF options:Orange and almond cake:https://recipes.csrsugar.com.au/recipe-items/flourless-orange-cake/That website is solid in that I have not had any disasters yet. I cut the sugar quantities down and add a pinch of salt when I bake.
verucasalt
I found this website to make your own GF flour but I don't have a lot of the ingredients. If you make GF things regularly you might have them: https://flannerys.com.au/2017/09/ultimate-gluten-free-baking-substitute-guide/
tomson
We make gingerbread. Very easy (we use the Commonsense Cookbook recipe) and in patty pans to make single serves.

Cstar
That looks good Jenflea but wow that's a lot of sugar
Rosie28
Traditional tea breads tend to use brown sugar.
overlytired
Nagi to the rescue? You won't even need the brown sugar. These are very good but filling; they could be made half the size.https://www.recipetineats.com/healthy-oatmeal-breakfast-cookies/
