Watching shows/movies - lights on or off?

I am lights on but no idea why

I like a dim light - our loungeroom lights are on a dimmer switch, or if watching in bed I will have one bedside lamp on.

Lights on - my eyes get so sore & loose focus looking at a screen in the dark.

I prefer background lighting so usually have the kitchen lights on. But I like to crochet while I’m watching tv and need the lights on for that. Looking forward to the days when the toddler no longer likes to climb everything and we can have fancy things like floor lamps again.

Off. Better definition in the dark whem watching

Lights off, same when I'm reading on my phone as well.

Dim light usually. Like if the kids are asleep and we are watching in the lounge one hallway light will be on.

Normally dim light on with tv or movies. Prefer lights off when gaming though, particularly if it’s a scary game - with a head set. Makes it feel more immersive.

Light on. I fall asleep with lights on, probably be out in seconds with lights off.

Lights off and the TV reflects on my glasses (so dirty) i can hardly see.

If I watch tv with the lights off I’m asleep within 10 minutes. Lights on so that I can knit while I watch and stay awake.

Lights off for me, lights on for DH. We have too many coversations about lights on/off in our house.

I have a low light floor lamp on when I watch TV - both DD and I like that dim light but DS likes it dark. In the new house we’ll have a dimmer on our downlights in the living and family rooms.
