Got three, one a double, hope to have another shortly.

Can't really remember the prices of the previous ones, but my last one, a front tooth, was $5k all up. $2.5k implant and $2.5k crown. Crown for the third done by my own dentist for the first time, wasn't happy with the bloke who did the previous one. Every implant put in by a maxillofacial surgeon.

Having the implant put in is about the same as a longer filling appointment. I think the crown appointment was actually longer. Had to wait for approval from the maxillofacial surgeon before dentist would add the crown. If it's a front tooth you can get a 'smile device' so you don't have a gap.

As for how long after tooth out - two of them about the same time, third one 40 years!

My dad was looking at to do his front tooth when it died, but he didn't want to want 1 to 2 weeks after removal and implantation of the post for the tooth ( he didn't want to look like a prate he said). His other options were a bridge ( but his teeth on either side had to be filed down and he didn't want that), so in the end the dentist removed the grey tooth, bleached it to match the normal teeth and glued in back into the socket. I also think he has a wire behind the teeth to support the loose one. Worked for him, but he is in his 70s and didn't want to spend over 4k on an implant at his stage of life ( even though he could afford it).

I had two side by side down 2018. The were the two teeth second and third from the back. I didn't need a plate. All up $5900 each.

DH had front tooth done and he paid about $300 for a temporary clear plate with a tooth on it.

First tooth was 5 months after implant. Would have done it earlier but we wre overeseas. Second tooth done 12 months later because of covid and dentist only seeing emergencies.

Maxiollfacial surgeon removed old teeth and did 2 implants in about 40 mins. My normal dentist did crowns. Had to have a full xray at a Xray place before seeing surgeon to make sure bone density was ok.

I have to clean gaps betwwen mine after each meal to avoid gum disease and rejection. Happy with them but they are a different sensation to my other teeth when eating. Got used to it quick.

Mine was just shy of $7k, including the extraction of the old crappy tooth, and varied appointments (dentist, then endodontist, then periodontist) while they tried to figure out whether it was worth saving (possible, but highly likely the root canal would fail again, so I just decided to junk the tooth).

It was 12 months between putting the post thingy in, and putting the crown on. This was due to careful planning on my part to maximise the amount I'd get back on insurance for Major Dental.

I've done the same thing with Major Dental. would have been thousands more without that.

With my first one, I was sent to a specialist who quoted me $5,000 to save the tooth. I'd already had two lots of root canal, and one lot of surgery through the gum. The kicker was the bottom of the letter said he gave it about a 50% chance of success! That implant has been absolutely glorious. Before I couldn't even risk tomato pips hitting the tooth, couldn't bit into an apple, crusty bread, without pain.

DH had a front tooth replacement a few years ago, after a bleached dead tooth from a sport accident fell out after 20 years. It cost $2k to replace, not including an appointment to fit a temporary tooth. It was done by his dentist.
