I'm 38 and it isn't unknown for me to have 1-2 periods a year where the damned thing doesn't turn up for ages and seems to almost skip a month or two. It's been happening for the last 3 years really. But no other signs of perimenopause really. If anything my periods are shorter then they used to be (went from a 32 regular as clockwork period lasting 6 days to a 26-28 cycle last 3 days). I suspect it is just one of my ovaries being a bit wonkier then the other as I age. This is the same ovary that usually has the really short cycles too.
