Where to sell steiff bears?

I have half a dozen steiff bears I collected in the early 2000s, when I had a lot more disposable income. They’re limited editions but not super rare as far as I know.

I’m sick of them taking up room in the wardrobe and want to sell them but have no idea how much they might be worth. Can anyone recommend somewhere to sell? I’d prefer to avoid eBay.

I would try Sotherby's I think they have an Aussie section but I would aim for a specialist toy auctioneers I would not sell this just randomly

Just googled and wow they are expensive teddy bears!

Second looking at collectors FB groups who even if they are not buy/sell groups may be able to advise if a dealer or auction house who can help.

I had some collectibles from a relative who passed away. I knew they were valuable but didn’t want to keep them. I came across a collectors group while trying to get an idea on their market value.

I had them properly appraised and then got in touch with the collectors group asking if they can help me find a buyer. I was able to sell to a few members for a fair price.

BornToLove do you have any suggestions about finding an appraiser? I’ve googled but not much comes up.

Sorry. I think I got a referral from either the lawyer or financial advisor. It was many years ago when I still lived in Canada so don’t remember all the details.
