summer08
Wow this is depressing. April. 7 months I’ve been TTC now and half that time was spent pregnant with an unviable pregnancy. At almost 38 this is not a good use of time. Ok rant over. Let’s hope April is our lucky month girls.
nomviv
I can absolutely relate to this, we intended to conceive this year (before I turn 37 in August) and we did it on 1 Feb and now just waiting to try again Fingers crossed I will get a shot this month. StephA
It definitely can be depressing. My niece turned one last month, was a total 'whoopsie' for her parents and was conceived 8 months into us already trying

Blizzy
18 months TTC. My acupuncturist wanted to order some bloods and ultrasound. My GP left, who was amazing, and I’m yet to find someone I love. I went to one of the other GPS in the clinic to ask for referrals and she just questioned me and said why should I do this. There were 3 things she didn’t know what they were or how they were relevant so she refused to give me a referral. I left really upset. summer08
I’m sorry Blizzy , it’s hard when you build such a good relationship with a GP then have to deal with a new one. Going out for a fancy dinner tonight so thought I’d check this morning (12DPO) and a STARK negative on FRER. Sigh. Was hopeful but not surprised really with a negative as no early pregnancy symptoms. nomviv
Blizzy thats a terrible experience. GPs should create a safe space for women to talk about these things. I’m really sorry that happened - I would look on the internet at the GP profiles local to you and find one that specialises in women’s fertility and health. Having a check up tomorrow, it will be 2w2d post d&c - since Saturday I have had a short heavy bleed every second day... today I thought the bleeding had all finally stopped and then walking back from the coffee shop had a short bleed that soaked my underwear but it wasn’t as bad as the previous bleeds at least. I’m over it!
StephA
Blizzy On what grounds can a GP refuse a referral? What right do they have to say no? That is ridiculous, I agree with nomviv though, find a GP that specialises in women's health, its what i did and shes been great and very understanding. I'm sorry you had to go through that.CD01 for me which means I'll start FSH injections tomorrow, scary but also a little exciting.
nomviv
StephA thats great! I’ve been through 6 rounds of ivf (although will be ttc naturally since we lost the only embryo that didn’t have my husbands genetic condition - we have 3 on ice that have the condition if we are desperate). I didn’t really have any issues with the injections... I would get symptoms of morning sickness once I started the orgalutran on day 5 but was always fine by 11am (unlike my actual real morning sickness which was all day). I hope it goes just as smoothly for you!
Blizzy
She refused on the grounds that she doesn’t know why it was necessary and even whatever results came back she wouldn’t know what to do with them. I said that’s fine I’m not asking her for advice it’s for the acupuncturist.
Blizzy
After doing no tracking this cycle, I have woken today with serious cramping. No bleeding yet. I did a HPT Yesterday which was negetive so I’d say today AF will arrive. 34 day cycle. Makes sense since we had failed BD attempt on CD 19&20 since we were camping and zero privacy

StephA
It’d be great if naturopaths and acupuncturists could orders bloods and testing, make things a lot easier for us all.CD1 here too, took its sweet time I’ve been cramping for 3 days. Maybe we’ve all synced up...
Blizzy
Still no AF? I’ve had like a stain when wiping this arvo too? Weird

Lucia22
Back into it the TTC swing again..Turns out after a short break that have definitely got Hashimoto’s and TTC which is a bit scary - if anyone has any advice let me know! Possibly explains a lot and why we have been trying for so long without a positive. Also turning 37 soon so time always of the essence, however taking a break was necessary to get TSH levels right.Going to have a tubul patency test soon.. with poppy seed oil?!?Slightly nervous!! Worried about the pain mostly. Then moving onto a Letrozole cycle. Goodluck for this month all!
StephA
I'm sorry you're back here Lucia22 . Do you mind me asking, how do you get diagnosed with Hashimotos? Are symptoms quite obvious? No advice sorry but will be thinking of you, I've had friends have that procedure and they've said it wasn't too bad and the pain manageable. I was meant to trigger last night and the pharmacy didn't order it in on time The joys of rural living. The clinic said it's okay if i do it today it just means my second follicle may have matured so there is a larger chance of multiples, but they always say that and i am yet to even fall with a single lol
Blizzy
I had an ultrasound the other day, on CD 9, where they found a fibroid smack bang in the middle of the implantation zone and I had a 20mm dominate follicle on the right side.Off tk the gyno as the sonographer said the location of the fibroid is prob the reason why I have lost a few pregnancies and embryos prob finding it hard to implant. nomviv
I’m so sorry Blizzy - it’s good that you know what’s going on now and can do something. My friend just got diagnosed with two large fibroids and is really upset about how it is impacting ttc.

It was just through routine bloods (TSH bloods that our FS requested) but prior to that came up from a random ultrasound of my neck done ages ago and showed some thyroiditis on my thyroid. My thyroid antibodies have remained high and then a specialist confirmed that diagnosis recently. They say if TSH is in normal range it shouldn’t really affect TTC however lots of other reports say even high antibodies have an effect.Anyhow it’s really an eye opener how much we learn about bodies through this process!
